The Computer Cafe is open to any one who wants to know more about computers, or who wants advice on buying a new PC, or has a problem with their hardware or software. If you don't know how to use any software then we can probably show you how.
We have up to 5 Mentors in attendance on Friday mornings with many years of teaching, and experience of the hardware, operating systems and other software installed. Covering Microsoft Windows, Apple O/S and the various tablet PCs. Bring your laptop along if you have a problem, we can accept Desktop PC's but you need to bring your display keyboard and mouse as well.
In particular we have experience of advising on the installation of various free software to enable you to get the best from your computer. Varying from Anti-virus, system maintenance, and other application software currently available.
We can give advice on upgrading your PC to the latest operating systems, but as this normally takes several hours to achieve it cannot be done during a normal session.
If you do not have a personal computer then there are a number of laptops available with which you can access the Internet.
A small charge is made for each half an hour this is currently 2.00 with a maximum of 8.00 for all morning to also include a free cup of tea or coffee.
This web site also has Internet links to various tutorials covering many subjects to do with Personal Computers and the software & applications installed, links to safe web sites where you can download software etc. Just click on the links to the left for additional pages. Your particular attention is directed to the frequently asked questions page.
